Step Into the Exploration of Life's Boundaries in Mag Jittaksa's Solo Exhibition 'Live Within' from Madskills Gallery
If you have ever wondered what boundaries define our lives, the solo exhibition “Live Within” by the talented artist Mag Jittaksa from Madskills Gallery invites you to explore this question. Through interpretation and presentation, the exhibition reflects the complexities of human existence and the limitations that affect our lives.
This exhibition encourages viewers to reconsider whether the boundaries in our lives are merely obstacles or whether they could be tools that help create meaning and stability in our existence. Through profound and diverse artworks, Mag Jittaksa presents works that reflect the relationship between humans and the limitations that appear in both tangible things, such as the body, home, or institutions, as well as abstract concepts like natural laws, time, relationships, laws, and cultural values, which permeate every moment of our lives.
Mag’s artwork doesn’t just describe the beauty within confined boundaries; it challenges viewers to look deeper into the role these boundaries play. Do they make us feel free, or do they set the course for our lives? The different forms of expression open opportunities for us to question how we view life through new perspectives, offering space to reflect on growth within the boundaries we create.
The journey in Live Within goes beyond exploring the boundaries in life we must face. Moreover, we also invite viewers to think about overcoming these limitations, stepping into new opportunities that reveal perspectives previously unseen. It presents a challenge both intellectually and emotionally, especially when we realize that boundaries are not just walls that block us but are also links connecting us to a wider world.
A Favorite Work by Mag JittaksaOne of the works Mag Jittaksa admired in this exhibition is The Sea Urchin Family, in which the artist states: “I really love this piece, and I want viewers to look at it from their own perspective. It reflects the limitations that we often overlook and invites us to think: Do these boundaries define us, or do they free us to be more of ourselves?”
In this artwork, Mag portrays a family of sea urchins in the same box, which symbolizes being under the framework of family relationships. When we are too close to each other, the spines of the sea urchins poke and hurt one another, reflecting the challenges and limitations we face in relationships that can harm us without us even realizing it.
