ABOUT Karun Thai Tea
Growing up, our mother filled us with stories about her childhood.
She never forgets to mention her favourite spot, which is a drink
vendor cart belonged to an old man whose tea she recalls to be
the best Thai tea she’s ever had.
What made his tea special was how everything came together delicately,
with precise craft and heart, overflowing with warmth and earthiness with
a rich oomph that was hard to find.
Determined to recreate the same magical experience on her own years later,
our mother set out to find the right recipe.
After two decades worth of trials and errors, the right taste was finally
rediscovered and even better with impressive mouthfeel and extraordinary
scent, thus in mid-June 1998, Karun was born.
METHODOLOGY
We combined tea leaves from 3 different sources across Thailand;
two from the north and one from the south. Adding finest cream and sugar,
and punctiliously brewing together make the tea extremely proper.
WHY “KARUN”?
The recipe was discovered and served at our place,
which was named “Karun House”. After neighbours
and visitors tasted and experienced the uniqueness,
it was labeled as “The tea from Karun House”.
And ever since, “Karun Thai tea” was marked and
used as the tea’s name.
